Service for Adults

Do you want to improve your health and lose weight?

Solihull's Community Weight Management Team can support you to make changes to your everyday life that will help you improve your health, lose weight and keep it off. We are developing a range of services for both adults and children.

Size Wise

Sizewise groups at local sports and community centres. It is a 12-week programme including healthy eating advice and a weekly beginner's exercise class. To find out more or to book your place contact the weight management team on 0800 015 3265

1-2-1 Appointments

One to one appointments are offered at various GP surgeries throughout Solihull. The dietitian can support you to make changes to your everyday life that will help you to lose weight and keep it off. You will also have access to a specialist team including a psychologist and physiotherapist. If you are interested in seeing the dietitian please discuss it with your GP or Practice Nurse who can refer you into the service.

Drop In Sessions

Drop In sessions are open to anyone over the age of 16 who wants information on losing weight or general healthy eating advice. No referral or appointment needed.

The Drop In sessions are held at:

  • You+Shop, Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre - every Monday between 12 - 2pm and every Tuesday between 3 - 5pm
  • Bosworth Medical Centre, Crabtree Drive, Chelmsley Wood - every Tuesday between 5.30 - 6.30pm
  • Solihull Methodist Church Hall, free optional exercise class from 4 - 4.30pm followed by a weigh in between 4.30 - 5pm (you can choose to attend just one of these options if preferred)

Make and Taste cooking skills for parents

One off taster sessions – aims to improve awareness of food hygiene plus gain a better understanding of healthy food choices. It is also an opportunity to taste a selection of quick and easy to make drinks and snacks.

Make and Taste sessions – a set of 4 interactive workshops to develop practical skills to enable you to improve your children's eating habits. It also aims to increase your confidence in budgeting, preparing and cooking healthy meals for all the family.
