Help & Advice

Living Well Solihull

The Living Well programme focuses on improving healthy lifestyles for children, young people and their families through group healthy eating and physical activity sessions.

The initial course lasts for 10 weeks which involves the family attending a two hour weekly session consisting of a fun, interactive, healthy eating session run by a qualified trainer followed by a physical activity and games session run by a qualified community coach.

The programme trainers will also provide one to one advice for the families and support them to set and achieve healthy eating and physical activity goals. During the course the trainers will support the family to think about how they are going to maintain their lifestyle changes once the course has finished.

Inclusion criteria

Only children aged between 7-15 years with a BMI percentile greater than 91 can be referred onto the programme. A parent or guardian must additionally attend the programme as support for the referred child or young person.

Is it boring?

The exercise sessions give participants the chance to try many new activities they might not normally be able to try as a family.

How much does it cost?

Each session is charged at £2.25 per family per week.
